The Sunday Paper: Chapter 25
Ah, another Sunday, another attempt to ignore Facebook and Twitter and read the paper.
Let’s do this!
A-Section
Now, this is just wrong.
This guy is awesome. And I’m not just being a Pollyanna. 🙂
On a mission to save farming and the planet.
It’s articles like this one that inspired my latest novel.
Sunday Opinion
Yeah. Women have the same problem. Only different.
Outlook
A final look at the paper archive that helped expose Big Tobacco’s secrets.
Book World
A memoir that looks to be well worth reading.
Young people and immigration. Two of my favorite topics.
Are Monkey Business and Horse Feathers really the Marx Brothers best movies? What about Duck Soup or Night at the Opera? What are they? Chopped liver?
Metro
And just when I thought the Post editors had decided that Saturday’s weather was too boring to report because the usual article didn’t appear on p. C3, look what showed up on p. C14! You guys trying to pull another Weingarten moment on me? 🙂 (Too bad that link isn’t still around, so you could understand all these Gene Weingarten references. Yeah, too fucking bad, huh?)
To sum up the article, the weather was exactly what you’d expect for the end of August.
But keep looking up in September.
Business
Still don’t believe in climate change? I think each generation can learn from the others.
Travel
I would love to go to Portugal.
And I’ve always wanted to see these rocks. Hopefully, before everything in the Southwest dehydrates to the point where it all crumbles into dust.
The printed paper’s headline says NYC’s been “freshened-up”. I probably wouldn’t recognize it.
Magazine
So glad I don’t have to worry about this shit anymore.
A peace museum. Now, there’s a concept.
And Gene makes a few prank phone calls! I didn’t read them, but I’m sure they’re hilarious you can if you want.
And now The Funnies!
To win the game, it always helps to know the rules.
Love the concept, but aren’t you a week early?
PS: I didn’t forget Sports and Arts & Style or whatever it’s called. I just didn’t feel like re creating the entire friggin’ paper or reading those articles.
PPS: Still trying to wake up!
