My Book Review of ‘The Perfect Neighborhood’ — Debbi Mack

Hi! Today I’m reviewing The Perfect Neighborhood by Liz Alterman. Yeah, I enjoyed this book very much. It’s a good book.

I was a little bit concerned at first given the name of the book and the fact that it takes place in this small community that’s, I guess, suburban to New York. I always have this kind of fear that the depiction will be of these people who are all perfect and Botoxed, as if all suburbanites were completely vapid and all they cared about was stuff like brands and keeping up with the Joneses, as they used to say in the old days. I don’t know what they say now, but anyway yeah, it’s more than that.

It’s an excellent book, actually, and it gets very, very suspenseful. The end was good. It was really good. It’s the kind of thing that I could fully appreciate because it’s like, okay, yeah, yeah, of course <laugh>, why didn’t I see that coming? That kind of thing. Yeah.

So, good reading and good book and yeah, sometimes small communities do hide some pretty terrible secrets. Appearances can be deceiving, that sort of thing. Anyway I recommend it, so do read it, and I will talk to you later. Thanks.
