My Book Review of ‘Organized Enough’ — One Honest Indie
Hi, today I’m reviewing Organized Enough by Amanda Sullivan. Yeah, I really like this book. Organized Enough: The Anti Perfectionist’s Guide to Getting and Staying Organized. I like this because it’s a very forgiving book, but it gives you the bottom line in terms of what you should do to get organized and stay organized. And basically what it comes down to is habit-forming. You form a habit, you stick with it. And keeping track of things, too.
Being mindful of what you buy, being aware of what you have, that you’re not buying multiple items of the same thing. I don’t have a problem with that because I don’t like to shop, even, as you can tell from my wardrobe. Anyway, clothing is an issue, but mainly it’s old clothing.
So I have a tendency to hang on to things and that’s where I really need to focus my attention. Letting go of the things that I can let go of. And in the case of a writer, that’s so often paperwork, contracts, old drafts, these things can have meaning for a writer and be hard to let go of. Contracts, in particular, you don’t want to let go of those. You want to hang onto those because you may need to show at some point that you had a relationship with somebody that was severed or worked out. Rights, things like that.
Anyway, bottom line is this is a nice little guide and another thing it suggests is inventorying. Inventorying your stuff, which I thought was a great suggestion, but each chapter has bullet points in terms of what to do, and that’s always helpful. So if you have trouble organizing, I would highly recommend this book. Five stars. Thank you and talk to you later.

Just in time for spring cleaning! 🙂 For me, every day is spring …
PS: Along with the onset of Spring, yesterday was World Happiness Day!
Here are some quotes to share:
1. “Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.” — Dalai Lama
2. “The greatest happiness you can have knows that you do not necessarily require happiness.” — William Saroyan
3. “If you want to be happy, be.” — Leo Tolstoy
4. “Happiness is a warm puppy.” — Charles M. Schulz
5. “Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of travelling.” — Margaret Lee Runbeck
6. “Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
7. “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” — Steve Jobs
8. “Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.” — Jim Rohn
9. “The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.” — Marcus Aurelius
10. “Happiness is not a possession to be prized, it is a quality of thought, a state of mind.” — Daphne du Maurier
Thanks, Paul! Next year, with any luck, I’ll organize a better post for that day. 🙂
