Hi! Today I’m reviewing One of Us is Dead by Jeneva Rose. This is an amusing little book.

I got <laugh>, it’s almost, it’s like a guilty pleasure for me. It’s not what I usually read, but it is definitely, once you get into it, interesting. It’s about four women who hang out at this salon. I think it’s four or is it six? I can’t remember now for some reason. Anyway, there are a number of women who hang out at this salon, and the women of Buckhead, “a place of expensive cars, huge houses and competitive friendships.” Okay. That should tell you right there what this book is like. Um, and the cover, I mean, after all. And, yeah, one of them is just really, really nasty. Nasty to the point where I almost stopped reading the book. I was just like, “Oh my God, this woman is toxic. I can’t even read about her.”

She is Olivia who, I believe, wants to be “the Queen of Buckhead.” <laugh> I can’t say that without laughing. Anyway, it’s really kind of a fun read. If you’re looking for kind of a beach read with nice short chapters, alternating viewpoints between these women and a cleverly constructed narrative, I thought. Very well done. And dead-on dark satire stuff. Totally, totally. And, well, what else was I going to say about this? I really liked it a lot. What can I say? <laugh> If I can think of anything else, I’ll add it anyway. Good reading, great beach read. And not what I usually read, so well done. Five stars. Why not? <laugh> Alrighty. Talk to you later.

I know what I was gonna say. I could never figure out what Buckhead was. Was it a city, a county, a town? And who are the police? What jurisdiction? I’m sorry. These are lawyer questions. And they just occurred to me as I was reading this, I kept looking for a reference like to the mayor of Buckhead? The governor? No, no, it’s not a state. So it would have to be a county or a town or a village or a, I don’t know. Anyway, it’s very interesting. Talk to you later.
