My Book Review of ‘Murder in Old Bombay’ — Debbi Mack

Hi, today I’m reviewing Murder in Old Bombay. This is another one that was submitted for Hammett consideration. And it’s by Nev March. And I really enjoyed this book more than I expected to.

I mean, normally I do not read books with covers like this. Really. I don’t know why. It’s not that I have anything against the subject or the place, but it just is not a book that I would normally read, and I really, really loved it. The protagonist is this guy, he’s kind of like an outsider, you know, and he’s trying to function in this world full of people who he thinks are above him, but he, he has this kind of Sherlock Holmes streak to him. The sleuth is this man who has kind of a Sherlock Holmes approach to solving the mystery involved in this, in this particular book.

I mean, he really gets into the details of who was where, when, and who struck John at what time. And if that happened, then this can’t be possible. That sort of thing. I think he even may have quoted Sherlock Holmes. I’m not sure. Anyway, be that as it may, I did enjoy this book very, very much. And would highly recommend it, especially if you like puzzle mysteries that take place in exotic locations. That’s what this book is. It’s great. And, well done to the author and I do recommend it.
