Keith Moon Crashes Through a Wall
There’s a story about Keith Moon, late drummer for The Who. My story today starts with his.
Apparently, on his 21st birthday, Who fans sent a lot of cakes to his hotel. Keith Moon being slightly nutters, crazy, or whatever you’d like to call it, decided to start a cake fight. With no pants on.
So, Moon’s running around the hotel, destroying the place with cake. Sans pants. And the rest of the band decides it’s time to intervene before Moon gets arrested for destroying the hotel or not wearing pants while doing so.
They drag him outside, where he manages to fall down and get a tooth knocked out. Now, he’s running about the hotel lot like a hillbilly with a British accent and no pants.
But then he gets into a car and proceeds to drive it through a wall and right into the hotel pool.
I’m thinking about the story as I’m exercising. To stay fit, don’t you know. But more than fitness is at stake. Now, I’m exercising to counteract the effects of a stroke I had at the age of 48 and in apparently good health. Because I got lucky, I was treated in time to recover the ability to move my left arm and leg. However, a few months later, I developed dystonia. Finding an effective treatment has been an ongoing project and made me a walking medical experiment.
