How to Handle Burnout
Hi. Today, I’m going to talk a little bit more about how to handle burnout.
There are ways of recognizing when you’re burning out, and doing too much or getting too stressed about something. And you probably know what they are. But maybe you haven’t really specifically identified them. And I think that’s helpful.
I know that at some points I have experienced feelings of terrible frustration and information overwhelm, like I’m getting just too much information all at once. And I have no idea what to do with it. And it puts me in a place where I suddenly feel stuck, and it’s like I don’t know which way to move, I don’t know what thing to do first.
Well, to me that was a sign of burnout. It was a sign that I was trying so hard to get a thing done and taking in too much input at the same time on how to do it. So if that has ever happened to you, be very careful. That’s all I can say. Just stop for a moment and don’t let anything affect you in any way. Just allow yourself that moment to stop and not think about whatever problem it is that’s come up or is ongoing.
Burnout can express itself in anger, frustration, confusion. You might be in the middle of something. Let’s say you open a browser tab and you’re like, Why did I just do that? That’s happened to me. You have to, at that point, to say, okay I’m either doing too much, thinking about too many things, trying to multitask, which is a mistake. I got to tell you. You don’t multitask. Everybody is going to do one thing at a time. It’s just that you’re trying to do so many things all at once that you get overwhelmed. Trying to multitask will lead to burnout and you don’t want that.
So I’m going to talk about intentionality and what they think that means and how I think you can achieve that. So if you’re interested in this subject, please feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow along with this particular thread. Thanks, and I’ll talk to you later.
