Get Ready for Festivus!
To be honest, I don’t really have all that many grievances these days.
I mean, I could grieve, but I don’t feel like it.
So … anyhoo, I did read the Sunday paper this weekend. Here are the headlines. (Sorry. I have to be stingy with my gift links. We wouldn’t want to force good old Jeff into bankruptcy, would we?)
Okay, let’s see … Ex-FTX CEO ready to ‘face the music,’ official says. Okay. What else we got here?
Oh, and the West has a water problem. It’s had a water problem for centuries.
What’s this? A Florida getaway for right-wing nutjobs! So glad I didn’t move to Florida.
There’s a guy in the U.K. who will offer you a brew and a place to stay warm. That’s nice of him.
Ah! Good question. How long till people stop falling for ‘founder’ hype? Hmm …? 🙂 (gift link!)
And a tech CEO is spending millions to keep Tesla’s self-driving software off the roads.
As for the “Best of 2022,” with respect to movies, I’ve heard of two of them and seen neither one.
With respect to television, I’ve heard of at least a couple of these and would like to catch The Bear. I watched maybe ten minutes of The White Lotus and gave up after the snarky teens began whining at their stupid mommy. But Season Two might be better? Hope springs eternal. 🙂
With respect to music, I know who friggin’ Beyoncé is. As for the rest … well … I’m hopelessly outta the loop. (Is there still a loop to be in? A silo of some kind? Because the internet and social media are siloing us or something, right? I have no clue.)
And (in the spirit of the holidays) here’s another gift link! Just click the link to open your gift article from the Washington Post and your pal, Jeff Bezos! (Also known fondly by the moniker of Old Baldy!)
PS: Don’t forget the funnies!
Pearls Before Swine! (Hey, Stephan. Let’s talk adaptations/animation sometime! 🙂 )
Oddly enough, the Post did not remove references to Amazon from this cartoon.
Unlike some things published in the Post. Ahem …! 🙂
PPS: What skills or lessons have I learned recently?
It doesn’t pay to answer AI-generated questions.
