Brief Report From ScriptDC — One Honest Indie

After spending the weekend at the ScriptDC conference, learning the ropes of indie film producing (line producing, that is), I figure I can probably do that kind of work. Mainly, it’s a matter of doing.

Line producing involves (among other things) figuring out the budget. It’s a collaborative process that requires one to anticipate the production’s needs.

I’ve written a very short script. One I think can be produced in a day.

I also met a lot of great people at the workshop, which was led by the incomparable Maureen Ryan.

Almost the minute I got home, I pre-ordered the third edition of this book!

PS: Believe me, I’m talking low-budget here!

I managed to survive intact this time. 🙂
